Well, that contained zero actual information about the actual mechanics of the new system.

I heard two things that sound promising: Epic characters as part of the core system and creatures balanced for the levels.

    Otherwise…

    Meh.

You have to admit, the character creation system looks amazing, but that’s not really 4th edition. At times it seems like they aren’t changing anything from 3rd, and then there are times that it seems like the whole system will be different – they did say that 3rd ed characters won’t be transferable.

I also thought that their changes to the monster system will be good. I understood that not only are they balancing encounters for levels, but also balancing monsters to be used with other monsters – whatever that meanings.

I will also have to say that I appreciate them removing grapple – shiver.

Yeah, that rule’s… not so good.

I didn’t see enough of the character creation system to be able to tell anything about it.

They really didn’t give any mechanics at all, and the online thing could be fun, except it will probably make use of those nitpicky rules we tend to ignore/fudge like encumbrance, movement, line of sight, and range.

Actually, we’ve all learned to use most of the rules in 3rd ed – which definitely, as the videos said, bog the game down.

I just got tired of hearing the guys repeat themselves, repeat themselves… oy. Character creation looks kinda nifty though. In my opinion someone went online and saw all the already made similar programs by fans and said “hmm yanno we could be making more money off this” and thus was born 4th edition complete with subscription based online additions.
    I say bah humbug!
Wake me when they make interactive kender doll that walks around your house hoarding all the things you weren’t using and didn’t know you had…cause I will SOOO be the first lined up for that. hehe

Forget Skynet, it’s Wizards of the Coast we should be worried about.

As per fourth edition, I just hope they make it easier to create everyone’s (well, at least for ladies) favorite minotaur.

And they should probably get rid of the Sphere of Ultimate Destruction, ninjas with deathblow/coup de grace/iaojutsu(?), and the frenzied berserker…talk about a game breakers.
